Cognition in Audiovisual Translation
The Cognition in Audiovisual Translation (CAT) Lab explores how people perceive, process, and interact with audiovisual content across languages and cultures. Our research focuses on the cognitive mechanisms underlying subtitle reading, audio description, and other forms of audiovisual translation, using empirical methods such as eye tracking, brain imaging and behavioural analysis.
